To all of the sponsors, volunteers and University Area CDC staff who came together for
Paint the Town 2024...
WE APPRECIATE YOU!
Our 12th Annual Paint the Town event, in honor of the legacy, leadership and service of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was a success. University Area CDC was thrilled to welcome close to 200 volunteers who came together on Saturday, January 13th to complete 20 beautification projects throughout the community. Some of the projects accomplished include:
- A beautiful new mural at the Harvest Hope Splash Zone
- Reviving the HOPE sculptures at Harvest Hope Park
- New flower beds with flowers and new butterfly bush plantings at Harvest Hope Park
- New shrubbery planted behind Harvest Hope Center
- Re-stocking and repairing Dreamboxes throughout the community
- Exterior painting of a community daycare
- New plantings in the back deck planters, around the donor’s circle and around the street signage
- Planting 50 new shrubs at Golden Glade apartments
- A massive lot clean-up adjacent to Golden Glade Apartments
- INCREDIBLE improvements at our Rehab to Restore Hope duplex (major landscaping, shrub plantings, fence demolition, painting bumper blocks, interior cleaning and more)
- Miles of litter cleanup that eliminated hundreds of pounds of garbage from our community streets
Check out the event photos below. And if you missed this year’s event, save the date of Saturday, January 18, 2025 for our 13th annual Paint the Town. Thank you!
