Artists: Junior Polo, Prodigy® Cultural Art Program Youth, Community Volunteers
Year: 2021
Location: University Area Community Center – 14013 North 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33613

About: In the unprecedented year of 2021, a poignant symbol emerged from the heart of the community – the “Peace” sculpture. In the midst of the challenging backdrop of COVID-19, incidents of police brutality, and the profound impact of events like George Floyd’s tragedy, the community strongly resonated with the powerful message of “Peace.” This sculpture, graciously funded by USAA, became a beacon of hope and unity for residents and passers-by.

Crafted collaboratively by the artistic prowess of Junior Polo, the creativity of Prodigy® Cultural Arts Program youth, the involvement of dedicated community residents, and the support of enthusiastic volunteers, this sculpture stands as a testament to the community’s resilience and their collective yearning for a more peaceful world.
