Community Impact Awards
Soaring City and the University Area CDC are coming together to recognize outstanding organizations that have shown exemplary leadership by working together to build a cohesive community, that serves as a model for advancing the University Area in a significant way. The UAC Impact Awards were created to recognize and honor the vital role and commitment of our community partners, in collaboration to transform the University Area into a thriving community-engaged Innovation District.
Who Is Eligible?
Organizations in the community (for and non-profit), that serve the University Area (zip codes 33612 & 33613). Self-nominations are accepted, but partners are also encouraged to nominate peer organizations.
Nomination Materials Should Include:
- Cover letter addressing qualifications for nomination, including a brief description of the partnership (or business), impact(s) on the community, and the quality of outcomes.
- One letter of support
Award Categories & Selection Criteria
Award #1: The Creative Cooperation Award
- This award has a focus on partnerships & community and demonstrates exceptional collaborative impact between community partners and community members.
- Excels in all aspects of partnership: consistent communication, knowledge of programs and services, and participation in community committees and events.
- Organization or project that brings the community together.
Award #2: Community Catalyst Award
- This award has a focus on a start-up program (for or non-profit)
- Intended to recognize an organization emerging in community leadership, inclusion, and ongoing growth & development.
- This award can highlight a project created by several partners or an organization.
Award #3: The Corporate Change-Maker Award
- This award has a focus on the business sector, and those who demonstrate exceptional collaboration for the benefit of the community.
- Provides notable contribution to the design, development, and assessment of innovative ideas to move the community forward.
Award Winners Will Receive:
Marketing Toolkit
Winning organizations/entities will receive up to 15 hours of marketing assistance in the creation of needed communications that will allow them to further their mission and share project information. Based on the organization’s need this may include physical exhibit design, press release or slide presentation template creation, social media development or design of other needed marketing materials.
State of Uptown – All finalists will receive recognition during the event to include:
- Three complimentary tickets
- Featured in State of Uptown program material and Soaring City e-newsletter.
- Complimentary exhibitor table at the event if desired.
Winning Partners will receive:
- Recognition from the podium
- Spotlight on social networking, press releases, and the resulting feature stories.
- Inclusion on Soaring City website
Community Partners Coalition Gathering – Winning partners will receive the following at the Community Partners Coalition Gathering:
- Presentation on organization
- Featured exhibit space.
- Name recognition on invitations
- Inclusion on University Area CDC website and social media
